Kathy Huenefeld DVM
Dr. Kathy Huenefeld received her BS in Agriculture in 1982 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985 from the University of Missouri. Upon graduation she worked in O’Fallon, MO and in St. Louis at the Veterinary Emergency Hospitals. She then moved to Adrian, MO and started Rolling Meadows Animal Hospital.
Her interest in veterinary medicine began at a very young age. She never wanted to “be” anything else. She grew up on a small farm near Butler, MO and was heavily involved in 4H showing cattle and horses. Throughout her teens and college she showed Appaloosa horses all over the Midwest. It was her love of horses (her horse “Moondoggie” was her little brother) and cats that led her to veterinary medicine.
Dr. Kathy Huenefeld retired from practice in Feb 2017 after 32 years of practice. She still manages the business side of the practice.
Dr. Kathy's attention to detail and dedication to continuing education has kept the practice always moving toward the most recent advances in medicine. In recent years she completed added training in Laser surgery, dermatology, internal medicine and pain management. She is a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.
Outside interests include photography (several of her pictures are in the clinic), fishing and traveling. She is a Black Belt in Goju Ryu.
She and Randy have two children, Jennifer- a retail store manager and Joshua – a Structural Engineer, and one grand daughter, Penny Lane. Her “children” include three house cats – Mr. Darcy, Timmy and Jack, eight outside cats- Pete, Libby, Lowell, Steve, Stella, Cora, Beau and Polly, an English Shepard- Laddie, two clinic cats- Bella and PK, and four horses.
